Locals demand for urgent action to resolve toxic pollution in their areas

28 June 2017 – Local people who suffer from toxic pollution submitted their research’s findings on heavy metal in sediment to the government, and demanded for urgent pollution control measures to resolve the problems as their sufferings have been ignored by the local state agencies.
 
At the Prime Minister's Operation Centre, 30 local people from the areas that affected by toxic pollution, and the representatives from EARTH submitted the research’s findings on heavy metal in sediment in the areas near the industrial sites in 8 provinces to the government. The group also urged the government to come up with the urgent pollution control measures, and in order to protect the people’s health and environment, the pollution that are released to the environment must be reduced.
